Hawks invite PG Royal Ivey to training camp
Point guard Royal Ivey is headed back to Atlanta, the team that drafted him in 2004, as a training camp non-roster invitee, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Chris Vivlamore.
Big news, I know.
Ivey spent last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 3.2 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 53 games, five of them starts.
Ivey, 31, spent the first three seasons of his career with the Hawks, averaging 3.4 points and 1.2 assists in 12.4 minutes over 188 games.
The Hawks have 17 players set to report to camp, Vivlamore writes, with 14 of them under contract. Atlanta can carry a maximum of 15 players.
