Daye was dealt to the Grizzlies in late January as a part of the Rudy Gay trade, appearing in 31 outings with the team, during which he recorded 4.0 points (on 47.0 percent shooting) and 1.9 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game. Following the selection of Jamaal Franklin in last Thursday's NBA Draft, Daye was deemed an expendable part of the team's wing rotation.
