In his first NBA season, Johnson appeared in 51 games for the Pacers and averaged 4.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 12.1 minutes.

The rookie out of UC Santa Barbara logged significant minutes in January, February and March but saw his role reduced during the team's playoff run to the Eastern Conference Finals. He scored in double figures on four occasions but struggled shooting from the field (40.0 percent). Johnson, who reportedly emerged as a leader in the Pacers' locker room, has one more guaranteed year remaining on his contract.
