Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr isn't expected to return to his team's first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers due to health concerns that kept him out of Game 3, a source told the San Jose Mercury News' Marcus Thompson II.

The 51-year-old missed his team's 119-113 win Saturday with an undisclosed illness. Kerr is reportedly suffering pain in his head and neck, but can still walk and has no issues with his back or legs, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Kerr underwent back surgery in July 2015, but complications led to a spinal fluid leak, which necessitated a second procedure that October. As a result, Kerr sat out 43 games during the Warriors' record-setting season in 2015-16.

The coach has since dealt with occasional headaches and nausea, and ESPN's Marc Stein reports he needed to have fluids replenished Saturday at the team hotel in Portland. Kerr participated in Sunday's film session, and plans to partake in at least a portion of the team's workout later in the day.

Mike Brown - coaching in his first playoff game since 2012 - took over bench duties in Game 3. The Warriors have been cruising without both Kerr and Kevin Durant, leading the Blazers 3-0 in the series with a point differential of plus-47.
