Celtics drew motivation from Garnett video before Game 3 win

Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

Few things in the NBA convey emotion like a screaming, swearing Kevin Garnett. And it seems Garnett had that in mind when he recorded a motivational video clip that the Boston Celtics played in the locker room prior to their Game 3 win over the Chicago Bulls Friday.

"It kind of energized us a little bit before the game and it reminded us of what we're playing for and what the Celtics stand for," Avery Bradley said afterward, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg. "It's funny because he was our leader when he was here. He's still part of this Celtics family. For him to go out of his way to send us a message like that, that means a lot to all of us."

Bradley is the only active player left on the Celtics to have played with Garnett in Boston. He received the clip, but said it was Isaiah Thomas' idea to play it for the whole team.

"Oh man, that was exciting," guard Terry Rozier said. "He got the whole team pumped, man. Outrageous hearing from a legend who played for this organization. He's been through it all."

Thomas had arrived in Chicago before the contest from the Seattle area, where he had spent the two days between Games 2 and 3 with his family in the wake of his sister's death.
