Marcus Smart fined $25K for middle finger at fan

The No. 1-seeded Boston Celtics went down 0-2 to the surging Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, and Celtics spark plug Marcus Smart will be even more unhappy with the result after the NBA fined him $25,000 Wednesday.

While the Celtics were being outmuscled and out-executed by an inferior opponent for a second straight night on their home floor, Smart showed the middle finger to a fan in the fourth quarter, which the league deemed an "obscene gesture."

Further punishment may also be on the way for Celtics center Kelly Olynyk, who was spotted yanking the arm of Robin Lopez while jostling for rebounding position. Olynyk famously popped Kevin Love's arm out of its socket in 2015.
