Riley: Heat, Bosh have spoken, but 'no resolution' yet

The Miami Heat have apparently failed to make any progress toward a buyout agreement with Chris Bosh, but at least the two sides are talking. That wasn't the case a few weeks ago, when Bosh reportedly wasn't responding to requests to discuss his contract situation.

"There's been conversations with the organization and with Chris, personally," Heat president Pat Riley told reporters Wednesday, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

Bosh, who hasn't been medically cleared to play since his recurrent blood clots resurfaced about 14 months ago, still hopes to play in the NBA again, but his Heat career appears to be over. The team has long been expected to seek a buyout of the remaining two years and $52 million on his contract.

"That's being discussed," Riley said, "but there's no resolution to it right now."

Bosh is the last holdover from the Heat's two-time title-winning Big Three, and Riley has already burned bridges with the other two, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

Riley also admitted his relationship with Bosh "got a little sideways" as the health situation grew more complicated, but said he feels "awful" for the 33-year-old big man, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

In six seasons with the Heat, Bosh averaged 18 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and nearly a steal and a block. He was named an All-Star in each of those campaigns.
