Knicks' Joakim Noah: To undergo surgery, miss four-to-six months

Noah is expected to have surgery for a torn left rotator cuff and will miss four-to-six months, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

Noah is already expected to have to miss the first 12 games of the 2017-18 season because of a suspension stemming from a violation of the NBA's anti-drug policy, so this is just another setback to his availability for next season. If he returns to the court on the earlier side of the four-to-six month timetable for a return, he could be good to go ahead of training camp. That said, the longer side of things could extend into the early portions of the regular season. Look for more updates on his injury as he progresses through his recovery over the summer.
