It was pouring in Dallas on Tuesday morning as Romo's catch-and-release was on point, embarrassing some of his teammates at the Mavericks' shootaround.

Showing off the moves

Romo didn't stop his display of talent in the morning.

Mavericks guard Devin Harris bit off a little more than he could chew, challenging Romo to a one-on-one contest he would surely regret during warmups.

Breaking down the huddle

You might be aware that Romo used to play a little bit of football, so the Mavs let him put those skills to work as part of their player introductions Tuesday.

The once-upon-a-time Dallas Cowboys quarterback took his familiar position, breaking down the Mavericks huddle.

Checking into the game ... almost

In the dying minutes of the game, down by double digits, Captain Comeback started changing into uniform, ready to save the day.

However, to save the rest of the basketball world from humiliation, team owner Mark Cuban didn't allow Romo to enter the game.

Sadly, Romo retired immediately after the game despite not playing a single minute, but what a career.
