Knicks' Carmelo Anthony: Doubtful Wednesday vs. 76ers

Anthony is doubtful for the Knicks' final game of the season Wednesday against the 76ers, Ian Begley of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

With the Knicks eliminated from postseason contention, coach Jeff Hornacek will likely opt to sit the 32-year-old forward in order to evaluate the team's younger talent. Assuming Anthony has played his last game of the season, he'll finish averaging 22.5 points on 43.3 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three, 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists across 34.5 minutes per game. If he's ultimately sidelined Wednesday, expect the likes of Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Justin Holiday to see run at the small forward slot, with Maurice Ndour, Kyle O'Quinn, Willy Hernangomez and Lance Thomas (hip) to possibly absorb some of Anthony's frontcourt workload.
