Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis: Doubtful Wednesday vs. 76ers

Porzingis (back) is doubtful for Wednesday's tilt against the 76ers, Ian Begley of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

With the Knicks eliminated from playoff contention, coach Jeff Hornacek likely doesn't want to risk his young star further aggravating his back in the final game of the season. Assuming he's played his last game of the year, Porzingis will finish his injury-shortened 66-game season averaging 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 blocks across 32.8 minutes per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc. If he's ultimately sidelined, expect Maurice Ndour, Lance Thomas (hip), Kyle O'Quinn and Willy Hernangomez to see additional run in the frontcourt.
