Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Explodes for 45 in Sunday's OT loss

Irving scored 45 points (16-30 FG, 8-12 3Pt, 5-6 FT) while adding nine assists, two rebounds and one steal across 45 minutes during Sunday's 126-125 overtime loss to the Hawks.

Analysis:

The eight made three-pointers tied his season high, but Irving's huge shooting effort wasn't enough to get the Cavs a win that would have put them a game up on the Celtics for the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. If the Cavaliers are truly dead set on getting the No. 1 seed, expect Irving to see another sizable workload Monday against the Heat in the second half of the back-to-back set.
