Lillard scores 59, but lets Jazz give game ball to Johnson for 20K points

Quite the classy gesture, Mr. Lillard.

Saturday night belonged to Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, who dropped a career- and franchise-high 59 points in a 101-86 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz at Moda Center.

Not to be overshadowed, though, was Jazz veteran Joe Johnson, who became the 42nd player in NBA history, and seventh active, to reach 20,000 career points.

Following the game, Lillard said he let the Jazz have the game ball to present to Johnson for his career milestone, rather than keep it for himself to commemorate his spectacular performance, according to Blazers.com's Casey Holdahl.

Johnson entered the matchup needing seven points to hit 20,000 and wound up finishing with 13 on 5-of-12 shooting in 23 minutes.
