Wade returns to Bulls' lineup vs. Nets

USA Today Sports

Dwyane Wade's ahead-of-schedule return to the Chicago Bulls' lineup has been made official, as Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg confirmed Wade will start against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

Wade was diagnosed with a right elbow fracture in mid-March and was expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. He'll play roughly 20 minutes against the Nets.

In Wade's first season with his hometown Bulls, the 35-year-old is averaging 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals on a career-worst True Shooting Percentage of 50.9. Chicago has performed 4.3 points per 100 possessions worse when the future Hall of Famer has been on the court as opposed to the bench.

The Bulls enter Saturday's contest against the league-worst Nets in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. They will clinch a postseason berth with a win over Brooklyn as long as Washington beats Miami and Milwaukee beats Philadelphia.
