Spurs' Tony Parker: Ends up sitting Friday vs. Mavericks

Parker (coach's decision) didn't see the court in a 102-89 win over the Mavericks on Friday.

Analysis:

The Spurs essentially ran out their "B Team" Friday, as coach Gregg Popovich made just eight players available while holding out most of his key veterans and restricting the workloads of two other rotation players in Patty Mills (18 minutes) and Dewayne Dedmon (18 minutes) in the front end of a back-to-back set. Parker had only received 16 minutes in the last game in which he suited up Wednesday against the Lakers, and that may represent a good estimate of what level of playing time to expect him to receive if he plays Saturday against the Clippers. The Spurs are locked into the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, so it seems highly likely that Popovich will limit Parker's court time over the final three games of the regular season, if not hold him out entirely of one or more of those contests. He should see close to a 30-minute workload in most games once the postseason arrives.
