Pelicans' DeMarcus Cousins: Out Friday

Cousins (Achilles) has been ruled out for Friday's game versus the Nuggets, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports.

Analysis:

After playing 35 minutes in each of the previous four games the team will opt to take it easy on Cousins' sore Achilles. The caution is unsurprising given the Pelicans have been eliminated from playoff contention. His status for Saturday's matchup against the Warriors is unknown at this time. Look for Dante Cunningham and Alexis Ajinca to see their workloads in the frontcourt increase due to Cousins' absence.
