Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis: Could miss final three games of season
Coach Jeff Hornacek acknowledged after Thursday's loss to the Wizards that Porzingis (back) could be held out of the Knicks' final three games of the season, Ian Begley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Given the Knicks are playing the second game of a back-to-back set Friday, it's probably safe to rule Porzingis out for the team's game against the Grizzlies. With the Knicks eliminated from postseason contention, it may make sense for the team to err on the side of caution and keep the big man sidelined for their two contests next week. Marshall Plumlee entered the starting lineup in Porzingis' stead Thursday, but only received 11 minutes. It looks like Maurice Ndour and Kyle O'Quinn will instead be the main beneficiaries if Porzingis ends up missing further time.
