Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis: Late scratch Thursday vs. Wizards

Porzingis (back), who was expected to play Thursday against the Wizards, experienced significant discomfort during pregame warmups and will be held out of the contest, Ian Begley of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

It was assumed that Porzingis would be healthy enough to play Thursday after he missed Tuesday's game against the Bulls to recover from the stiff back, but it appears he suffered a setback and will now sit out Thursday, and possibly the team's remaining three games on the schedule. Look for Maurice Ndour and Kyle O'Quinn to pick up most of the open minutes in the frontcourt with Porzingis sidelined.
