Raptors' Kyle Lowry: Will return Wednesday vs. Pistons

Lowry (wrist) will play without restriction Wednesday against Detroit, Michael Grange of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

For the first time since undergoing surgery on his wrist in early March, Lowry was listed as questionable to play Wednesday, and the team has now clarified that the All-Star will return to action following an absence of nearly seven weeks. The 31-year-old is expected to immediately reclaim the starting point guard spot from Cory Joseph, and it appears he'll be without a minutes limit, though he'll likely still be monitored after such a lengthy layoff. Toronto has won eight of its last 10 games with DeMar DeRozan taking on an even larger offensive burden, so it will be interesting to note how Lowry's presence will impact his backcourt mate's production over the final four games of the regular season. Entering Wednesday's contest, the Raptors are tied with the Wizards, but hold the tiebreaker, for the No. 3 seed in the East.
