Nuggets' Will Barton: Officially out Friday vs. Hornets

Barton (foot) has been officially ruled out for Friday's game against the Hornets, Nick Kosmider of The Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

There was optimism earlier in the day that Barton would be able to suit up Friday, but with the Nuggets downgrading him to doubtful after the team's morning shootaround, it was expected that his sore foot would prevent him from suiting up. Barton has seen his role downsized since Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler returned from injuries earlier this month, and the fact that he's now hurt himself may make it difficult to wring much fantasy value out of him for the rest of the regular season.
