Kings' Ty Lawson: Out Friday vs. Pelicans

Lawson will be held out of Friday's game against the Pelicans for rest purposes, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Lawson will get the night off along with Arron Afflalo (personal), Anthony Tolliver (rest) and Kosta Koufos (rest), allowing coach Dave Joerger to evaluate some of the team's younger options at multiple positions. The absence of Lawson should be most beneficial to Darren Collison and Langston Galloway, who figure to handle most of the minutes at point guard. Lawson figures to return to the rotation for Saturday's game against the Timberwolves.
