Grizzlies' Vince Carter: Pours in 21 in victory

Carter recorded 21 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), eight rebounds and one steal over 33 minutes in Wednesday's 110-97 win over the Pacers.

Analysis:

Carter continued to hold off Father Time and posted another impressive stat line on Wednesday, draining four of six 3-point attempts along with a perfect score from the charity stripe on the way to 21 points. It's almost impossible to conceive that the 40-year old is holding a roster spot on a playoff contender, much less as a regular starting small forward. Although his production can be a bit erratic, he's enjoying his best month of the season in March, averaging 8.8 points and 2.9 rebounds over 14 contests. Carter's presence on the court is more inspirational than it is relevant from a fantasy perspective, however. There are several forwards out there that can give you more output than Carter, so unless you have a nostalgic bent for a bit of Vinsanity, he can't be depended on for consistent production in most formats.
