Here are the fantasy implications of Houston Rockets PF Ryan Anderson being ruled out for two weeks due to an ankle injury:

With the majority of fantasy leagues entering their final week this coming Monday, Anderson's injury timeline makes him an obvious candidate to drop.

In his first season in Houston, Anderson was averaging 13.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in nearly 30 minutes per game. Injuries have been a common theme in his career as only once has Anderson played in more than the 68 games he suited up for so far in 2016-17.

His biggest fantasy contribution is 3-pointers; Anderson has knocked down 2.8 long balls per game at a nearly 40 percent clip.

SG Eric Gordon is likely to enter the starting five in a small-ball-focused lineup though the change won't impact his fantasy output all too much.

Over nine starts, Gordon has averaged 15.6 points with 2.7 made 3-pointers, compared to 16.5 points with 3.5 made 3-pointers in 57 appearances off the bench.

SG Lou Williams should see an increased opportunity, though he has been mired in a shooting slump for most of March. Williams is averaging 13.9 points with two made 3-pointers per game with the Rockets. Like Gordon, he's owned in the majority of fantasy leagues, so he likely won't be available on too many waiver wires.

SF Sam Dekker could find his way back into the rotation after having played eight minutes or fewer in five of his last six games, but he's too unreliable for season-long fantasy leagues. With four outings of 15 or more points, Dekker is best served as a potential bargain daily fantasy option.

With four fantasy-friendly matchups on tap for the week of March 27 - April 2 (a home-and-home series with the Golden State Warriors, as well as trips to visit the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns), the likes of Gordon and Williams should be able to pick up the slack in the wake of Anderson's injury.

Realistically-available positional replacements for Anderson include:

  • PF Nikola Mirotic, Chicago Bulls: Mirotic has mirrored Anderson's production in March, averaging 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 made 3-pointers per game. Chicago also plays three games this coming week, including a weekend back-to-back.
  • PF/C Frank Kaminsky, Charlotte Hornets: The second-year big man has taken a step forward since the All-Star break, averaging 15.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 3-pointers per game. Kaminsky missed a stretch of games in early March, but he has since returned to see a regular workload. The Hornets are in action for four games this coming week.
  • PF/C Skal Labissiere, Sacramento Kings: With one 3-pointer in 23 games, Labissiere won't replace Anderson's long-range prowess, but the Haitian rookie has much more of an all-around game. Labissiere has averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds in March, and finished two assists shy of a triple-double in his most recent game. Sacramento, like most teams, plays four times this week.
