Heat's Hassan Whiteside: Double-doubles prior to finger laceration

Whiteside posted 23 points (9-18 FG, 5-6 FT), 14 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 112-97 win over the Suns. He also suffered a laceration between his fingers during the contest and will get stitches, Anthony Chiang of the Palm Beach Post reports.

Analysis:

Whiteside logged his 13th straight double-double in Tuesday's contest, so the laceration didn't appear to hurt his performance too much. That said, the stitches could present some problems for his availability heading into Thursday's game against the Raptors, so it will be a situation to monitor over the next couple of days. Look for another update on his status following Wednesday's practice session.
