Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: To remain in starting lineup Tuesday

Coach Luke Walton said Russell will remain in the starting lineup at shooting guard Tuesday's game against the Clippers, Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Analysis:

After moving Russell to the bench for two games, Walton opted to insert him into the starting five in an off-the-ball role Sunday against the Cavaliers while Nick Young (illness) sat out. While it's undoubtedly a small sample, Russell erupted for a career-high 40 points, going 14-of-22 from the field and knocking down seven three-pointers. Even with Young expected back Tuesday -- he went through a full practice Monday -- Walton will stick with the same starting five in an attempt to galvanize a young Lakers team that's dropped 13 of its last 14 contests.
