Heat's James Johnson: Impressive well-rounded showing Sunday

Johnson contributed 24 points (9-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks across 31 minutes during Sunday's 115-104 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Analysis:

With Dion Waiters (ankle) going down with an ankle sprain and likely not returning until late March or early April, Johnson will seemingly assume the role of the leader off the Heat bench. The 30-year-old has completely reinvented his game since taking his talents to South Beach this season, averaging career highs in points (12.1), rebounds (4.8) and assists (3.5) per game while also knocking down a career-high 34.0 percent of his attempts from long range. Johnson is especially valuable in fantasy formats where he's three-position eligible, as he's averaging a multi-dimensional 16.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.2 steals per 36 minutes this season -- a workload he could flirt with while Waiters is sidelined.
