Pelicans' Anthony Davis: Records routine double-double in win

Davis scored 24 points (10-18 FG, 0-1 3 Pt, 4-5 FT) to go along with 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and a steal across 38 minutes in Friday's 128-112 win over the Rockets.

Analysis:

David recorded his 40th double-double of the season Friday, in a game where the Pelicans were without DeMarcus Cousins (knee). Where do we stand with Davis since the 'Two Towers Experiment'? Honestly, not much has changed for Davis, as his output has remained almost identical with his season averages, as his scoring and rebound averages before and after Cousins are all within one percentage point of each other. I'm sure it pains Pelicans fans to say it, but Davis and the rest of the team look pretty darn good without Boogie out there, but it doesn't seem to affect Davis either way. He remains one of the most dependable sources of massive stat lines in the league, and it will be interesting to watch the Pelicans figure out how to deal with Davis and Cousins together moving forward.
