Mavericks' Wesley Matthews: Cleared to start Friday vs. 76ers

Coach Rick Carlisle said that Matthews (calf) would start Friday against the 76ers, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Analysis:

Matthews missed Wednesday's win over the Wizards with the right calf strain, but after he completed morning shootaround without a hitch, the team was comfortable with clearing the veteran to play. It's expected that Matthews will take back his usual starting role at small forward, resulting in Dorian Finney-Smith heading back to the bench. Given the brevity of Matthews' absence, it's not expected that he'll face any minutes limitations Friday.
