Nets' Trevor Booker: Out Friday vs. Celtics with sore leg

Booker will sit out Friday's game against the Celtics with left leg soreness, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Analysis:

Booker was held out of Thursday's win over the Knicks for what was believed to be rest-related reasons on the front end of a back-to-back set, but it now appears he was nursing a legitimate injury. Since the Nets are probably more inclined to evaluate their younger options at this stage of the season, it wouldn't be surprising if the 29-year-old ended up sitting out additional games over the final month of the campaign. Starting power forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson could be asked to take on a few extra minutes with Booker unavailable for a second straight contest, as could bench big men Quincy Acy and Justin Hamilton.
