Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Will receive treatment for knee issue

Irving will receive treatment on his sore left knee Friday and will travel with the Cavaliers to Los Angeles, but isn't certain to play Saturday against the Clippers, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.

Analysis:

Irving's injury, which he suffered in Thursday's win over the Jazz, is to the same knee that he fractured in Game 1 of the 2015 NBA FInals, but since he's just dealing with soreness, it's not nearly as serious of a concern. The point guard said the knee tightened up Thursday when he sat to began the fourth quarter, and the Cavaliers training staff decided it was best to hold him out for the rest of the night. Irving is hopeful that after visiting a masseuse Friday, he'll be feeling well enough to suit up Saturday, but a verdict on his status likely won't be determined until after the Cavs' morning shootaround.
