Timberwolves' Lance Stephenson: Out Friday with sprained ankle

Stephenson is dealing with a sprained left ankle and won't play Friday against the Heat.

Analysis:

Stephenson, who suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Celtics, previously sprained the same ankle prior to the All-Star break, which required about two weeks of recovery time. It's unclear if the latest occurrence will result in as extended of an absence, but Stephenson nonetheless looks bound to miss some time, as he wasn't able to put much weight on the leg while exiting the court Wednesday. With Stephenson's second 10-day contract set to expire Saturday, it wouldn't be surprising if the Timberwolves looked elsewhere to fill his roster spot.
