Watch: Remembering Kobe's streak of 50-point games in 2007

USA Today Sports

The 2006-07 Los Angeles Lakers didn't have Shaquille O'Neal, nor had they traded for big man Pau Gasol yet. What they did have, though, was Kobe Bryant's elite offensive firepower, which kept the team competitive during a lull.

At this time 10 years ago, Bryant strung together a series of performances that only one other player in league history (Wilt Chamberlain) has been able to muster up. "The Black Mamba" scored 50 or more points in four consecutive outings as part of the Lakers' longest winning streak of the campaign.

His streak ended March 25 against the Golden State Warriors, with Bryant dropping a modest 43 points at the Staples Center.

The eventual 19-time All-Star averaged 31.6 points across 77 games for the 42-40 Lakers that year, shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 34.4 percent from 3-point range.
