Clippers' Chris Paul: Bounces back with double-double Thursday

Paul supplied 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 14 assists, three rebounds and one steal over 30 minutes in Thursday's 129-114 loss to the Nuggets.

Analysis:

With Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan both sitting for rest, Paul didn't have any room for dwelling on his 2-for-10 shooting performance against the Bucks on Wednesday, which had led to a season-low six points. He came out of the gates hot in a favorable matchup and posted his fourth game of better than 50 percent shooting in the last five. Paul also continued what has been a recent stretch of strong three-point shooting, with Thursday's game marking the fourth time in the last five contests that he's drained multiple shots from behind the arc. He was setting up teammates with scoring opportunities when he wasn't draining shots himself, as his assist total was his highest since Feb. 26. Factoring in Thursday's production, the veteran point guard is averaging 19.0 points, 7.6 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 32.3 minutes in 10 March games.
