Warriors' Klay Thompson: Strong start in Thursday's win

Thompson scored a team-high 29 points (12-20 FG, 5-9 3Pt) with four rebounds, five assists and one blocked shot over 29 minutes in Thursday's 122-92 win over the Magic.

Analysis:

Thompson set a tone early, making 8-of-9 from the field, including 5-of-5 from long distance, to score 21 first-quarter points. By then, the Warriors were in cruise control. He's been deadly the last four games, shooting 45-for-87 (51.7%) from the field and averaging 28 points. While we thought Stephen Curry would take on a bigger scoring load without Kevin Durant (knee), it's been Thompson stepping up his production. His hot streak comes at a good time as Curry rolled his ankle in Thursday's win, making his availability Saturday night's game against Milwaukee uncertain. If Curry is limited or worse Saturday, that would mean more shots for Thompson.
