Hawks' Paul Millsap: Little impact during Thursday's loss

Millsap managed 10 points (3-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block across 31 minutes during Thursday's 103-91 loss to the Grizzlies.

Analysis:

Thursday marked the first time since Feb. 24 against the Heat that Millsap has taken less than 10 field goal attempts in a game, and also marks the second consecutive game that he's posted four turnovers. Millsap, sitting at 31.0 percent from beyond the arc this season, has also seen his three-point percentage drop for the second straight year -- knocking down 31.9 percent of his attempts from distance last year and 35.6 percent two seasons ago -- a concerning trend for someone who plays next to the inside presence of Dwight Howard. That being said, he's averaging a career-high 3.8 assists per game, but Millsap's struggles elsewhere arguably negate his improved passing. While fantasy owners were likely hoping for improvements from the veteran forward, or at least a plateau, the 32-year-old Millsap may be showing signs of slowing down, or a difficulty adjusting to the presence of Dwight Howard.
