Celtics' Isaiah Thomas: Out next two games

Thomas will sit out games Friday against the Nets and Sunday against the 76ers due to a bone bruise on his right knee.

Analysis:

Thomas sustained the injury during Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves, in which he scored 27 points in 32 minutes. In what's likely somewhat of a precautionary move, the Celtics will hold Thomas out against a soft portion of their schedule, with the hope the point guard will return to action Monday against the Wizards. Marcus Smart is the most likely candidate to enter the starting five while Thomas is sidelined.
