Bulls' Nikola Mirotic: Scores 14 off the bench in loss

Mirotic scored 14 points (3-10 FG, 3-8 3 Pt, 5-5 FT) to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots over 28 minutes in Wednesday's 98-91 loss to the Grizzlies.

Analysis:

All of Mirotic's field-goal attempts were from long range, a trait he's enjoyed all year as he's third in the league in 3-point field goals attempted among power forwards with an average of 5 per game, and he has a respectable 30.7 percent average from beyond the arc. He's been utilized primarily as a sixth man all year, with only 2 starts to his credit so far this season. With the addition of Rajon Rando into the lineup, things are in flux for a team that is trying to get out of the funk they are in, but Mirotic should stay fairly consistent during this period. The Bulls face the Wizards on Friday, and although Washington is currently one of the NBA's hottest teams, Mirotic has played well in two contests against the Wizards, averaging 14 points, 8.5 rebounds per game and made 60 percent of his shots from 3-point range.
