J.R. Smith jokes he's responsible for LeBron's triple-doubles

J.R. Smith could be behind teammate LeBron James' current hot streak.

The Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard has a theory on how James has been racking up so many triple-doubles lately. The superstar set a franchise record with his 10th triple-double this season in Tuesday's 128-96 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Asked about James' recent surge of trip-dubs - five in the last nine games - Smith pointed to the timing, specifically how the run has aligned with his return from injury last week.

"Ever since I came back he been getting triple-doubles so, I ain't trying to toot my horn or anything, but you know, I'm just saying," the 31-year-old told reporters postgame Tuesday after knocking down a pair of shots to give James two of his 12 dimes.
