Lakers' Timofey Mozgov: Will likely be shut down for rest of season

Mozgov is unlikely to play for the remainder of the season, Marc J. Spears of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Mozgov had seen the floor in only two of the Lakers' past 14 outings, so the fact that the team is considering making him inactive for the rest of the season doesn't register as much of a surprise at this point. The Lakers seem content to continue giving extended looks to Tarik Black and Ivica Zubac, who started and turned in a career-high 25 points to go with 11 boards in 30 minutes during Monday's loss to the Nuggets. Mozgov will still continue to take part in practices and travel with the team, but the Lakers surely have some buyer's remorse after inking him to a four-year, $64 million deal last July.
