One kick at Mason Plumlee's can proved tremendously costly.

Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris was fined $25,000 for a boot below the belt against Plumlee, the league announced Friday.

Morris was assessed a flagrant 2 and ejected from Wednesday's game when the infraction first took place. The league evidently decided that additional punishment was fitting for Morris's merciless punt.

The foul was also entirely needless. Washington was cruising to a win, leading by 11 with two minutes left in the fourth, and Morris' act was largely unprompted outside of Plumlee's steal.
