Cavaliers' J.R. Smith: Also questionable with illness Thursday

J.R. Smith (thumb) is also dealing with an illness and remains listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Pistons, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

Analysis:

Smith, who resumed practicing earlier this week following a long layoff due to a fractured thumb, wasn't able to make it to shootaround after he woke up a little under the weather, which adds some doubt to whether he'll suit up Thursday. Expect Smith's status to ultimately come down to a game-time decision, as he'll likely go through pregame warmups before a final decision is made. If cleared to play, Smith would likely come off the bench and play a limited role, though he could take back starting shooting guard duties from Iman Shumpert once he gets a few games under his belt.
