Bulls' Rajon Rondo: Hopeful to suit up Wednesday vs. Magic

Coach Fred Hoiberg said after the Bulls' morning shootaround that he's hopeful Rondo (ankle), who is a game-time decision for Wednesday's tilt with the Magic, will be available for the contest, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Rondo was held out of Monday's loss to the Pistons with a sprained right ankle, but he looks to be trending in the right direction as Wednesday's 7:00 p.m. ET tip off approaches. He was able to go through portions of practice Tuesday and was present for morning shootaround Wednesday, so if Rondo experiences no setbacks in pregame warmups, he'll likely be given the green light to play. The Bulls could have more of a need than normal Wednesday for Rondo's playmaking skills, as Dwyane Wade (thigh) isn't expected to be available and Jimmy Butler's (illness) status is also in question.
