Bulls' Jimmy Butler: Doesn't participate in shootaround Wednesday

Butler is dealing with an illness and was absent from the Bulls' morning shootaround, putting his status in question for Wednesday's game against the Magic, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Butler remained at the team hotel during shootaround to recover, but coach Fred Hoiberg noted that he's hopeful the swingman will make enough progress over the afternoon to suit up. With Dwyane Wade (thigh) doubtful Wednesday and Rajon Rondo (ankle) a game-time decision, the Bulls could be low on playmakers in the backcourt if Butler is sidelined. Paul Zipser and Denzel Valentine would be the primary beneficiaries if Butler sits.
