Lakers' Timofey Mozgov: Drops out of rotation Tuesday

Mozgov (coach's decision) failed to see the floor in a 122-111 loss to the Mavericks.

Analysis:

After being held out of the rotation in eight of nine games, Mozgov slotted in as the second-unit center in Sunday's loss to the Pelicans, producing eight points, five rebounds, one assist and one block in 15 minutes. He was only included in the rotation for that contest because Ivica Zubac (quad) was unavailable, but with the rookie cleared to suit up Tuesday, Mozgov didn't leave the bench. So long as Zubac and starting center Tarik Black stay healthy the rest of the way, there won't be many opportunities for Mozgov to play. The 30-year-old is already looking like a bad investment for the Lakers after signing a four-year, $64 million contract last summer.
