Trail Blazers' Ed Davis: Undergoes successful surgery Tuesday

Davis underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday, Casey Holdahl of TrailBlazers.com reports.

Analysis:

The surgery was reportedly to "stabilize the labrum in his left shoulder" and everything went off without a hitch, so Davis will now start the long road to recovery. Davis is fully expected to be at full strength prior to training camp and he'll be back for at least one more season with the Trail Blazers on a cap hit of $6.35 million for the 2017-18 campaign. Davis' injury should allow Meyers Leonard to solely take on the team's backup center role behind Jusuf Nurkic.
