Pelicans' Jrue Holiday: Held to 1-of-9 shooting Monday
Holiday was limited to four points (1-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 23 minutes in a 88-83 loss to the Jazz on Monday.
Analysis:
The Jazz defense has stymied many high-scoring guards this season, and Holiday was no exception, despite coming off a string of three consecutive 20-point performances. The 1-of-9 mark from the field was Holiday's worst since Jan. 14, and that lack of efficiency prompted coach Alvin Gentry to lean more heavily on Tim Frazier at point guard in the second half. Assuming Holiday can get off to a more respectable start to Wednesday's game against the Raptors, he should see his playing time settle back to the mid-30-minute range.
