Knicks' Carmelo Anthony: Ruled out Monday with sore knee

Anthony is dealing with a sore left knee and will sit out Monday's game against the Magic, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Anthony hurt his knee while playing 35 minutes during Sunday's loss to the Warriors, and given that he previously required surgery on the same knee, it appears that the Knicks are exercising some caution in holding the star out for the second half of a back-to-back set. It's not expected that the injury will keep Anthony out beyond Monday, so he seems like a good bet to return to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Bucks. For Monday's game, Lance Thomas should be in line for a bump in minutes with Anthony out, while Justin Holiday and Mindaugas Kuzminskas could be candidates to enter the starting five.
