Spurs' Pau Gasol: Scores 18 off bench in win

Gasol provided 18 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3PT, 8-8 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 20 minutes in Wednesday's 100-99 win over the Pacers.

Analysis:

Gasol showed no signs of rust in his third game back from the finger injury that saddled him for 15 games. Coach Gregg Popovich elected to bring him off the bench and Gasol did not disappoint, looking very efficient under the basket. Popovich will likely restrict Gasol's minutes down the stretch and rely on David Lee and Dewayne Dedmon, so one can't expect consistent minutes from Gasol if you've been waiting for his return. He is still worth stashing on your bench as he'll be used liberally if the Spurs need an extra push towards the playoffs in the West. They may need Gasol's services more on Friday as the Spurs face the tandem of DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis in New Orleans.
