Cavaliers' Andrew Bogut: Will sign with Cleveland

Bogut will sign with the Cavaliers for the rest of the season once he clears waivers at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

After being waived by the 76ers on Monday, Bogut was entertaining offers from a number of contending clubs, but the opportunity to play alongside LeBron James and the defending champs was too much for him to pass up. The 32-year-old should slot in behind Tristan Thompson on the depth chart at center, providing the Cavaliers' second unit with some much-needed rim protection, as well as another big man who is a willing passer. The Cavaliers are scheduled to play the Celtics on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. ET, and given that he'll have yet to practice with the team upon signing, it's safe to rule Bogut out for that contest. Look for him to instead make his team debut Friday against the Hawks.
