Bulls' Michael Carter-Williams: Sits out practice Monday

Carter-Williams (knee) didn't participate in Monday's practice, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Carter-Williams continues to deal with patellar tendinitis in his knee, which prevented him from suiting up in Saturday's win over the Cavaliers. Considering he was unable to practice, Carter-Williams' availability for Tuesday's matchup with the Nuggets would appear to be in serious jeopardy. The Bulls have more than enough point guards on hand to cover for Carter-Williams' absence, as all of Jerian Grant, Rajon Rondo and Cameron Payne saw action at the position Saturday. Carter-Williams is the only player of that group that isn't signed beyond this season, so it wouldn't be surprising if he dropped out of the rotation once healthy as the team looks to evaluate some of their longer-term assets.
